meet me. jordan B. Scates

Jordan B. scates is a 23-year-old choreographer, dancer, and creative director from the Bay Area. He began formal training at age 15 and is deeply rooted in Hip-Hop, while also expanding his skills through Jazz and Contemporary styles. His artistic growth has taken him to cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Virginia, where he trained with programs like Monsters of Hip-Hop and Kaos, learning from industry leaders such as Antoine Troupe and Ysabelle Capitule.

In 2023, Jordan launched MVMT Certified, a youth development dance program focused on a hip-hop and Commercial curriculum for dancers ages 12 to 18. The program highlights technique, personal growth, and industry knowledge, reflecting Jordan’s passion for mentorship, education, and community building.

He currently teaches and leads competition programs across the Bay Area and Northern California, working closely with youth and pre-professional dancers to help them grow their training, performance skills, and artistic voice.

Jordan earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from California State University, Los Angeles, and is now pursuing a Master’s in Legal Studies at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, with plans to enter their JD program. His academic path supports his mission to create inclusive and forward-thinking spaces in both arts and education.

He’s performed and assisted on stages like Club Jete and Choreographer’s Carnival, while building an education career across California and Chicago. Beyond the studio, Jordan expresses his creativity through his fashion brand, Curated by Jordan, which blends movement culture with design.

As a performer, educator, and entrepreneur, Jordan keeps pushing boundaries and redefining what it means to be a modern multidisciplinary artist.
